The land of India has been known for the saints and braves born here. Shivaji was also a legendary and brave king founded his state. The birthday of Shivaji Bhonsle, who is also called as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is celebrated as Chhatrapati Shivaji Jayanti. This day is celebrated on 19th February on a majestic scale in Maharashtra.
He was named after a local goddess Shivai by his parents Jijabai and Shahaji Bhonsle. He is known as the creator of the Maratha nation and he is also well-known for uniting the chiefs of Mayal, Konkan and Desh regions. Chhatrapati Shivaji is treated as hero by the people of Maharashtra as well as by the whole nation. Shivaji defeated the alien powers and had built a small kingdom. He was greatly recognized for his military and civil administrations too. Several parades and processions are taken on the occasion of Shivaji jayanti and his followers dress up like Shivaji and his associates. People also organize various programs and activities and remember the achievements of the great ruler. He was a very good and noble king who was much worried about the well-being of his people. The Ashtapradhan Mandal formed by him for the perfect administration of the state shows his vision for the state as well as public. Shivaji was crowned in 1674 and hence, he got the name as Chhatrapati Shivaji. He was known for his courage and intelligence even today and he is called as Brave warrior by people. Shivaji was the person who laid the foundation for Hindu empire and after his death also he is source of pride and inspiration.
