Saint Kabir Jayanti, a day to remember great poet
There are a lot of saints born in India. Surdas, Meerbai and Kabir are leading names among the saints of this land. Kabir das is known to be the best poet of his time. Kabir Jayanti is celebrated to mark the birthday of this legendary saint and poet. He was one of the mystical saint of India. He was born in a Muslim weaver family. Even today his Dohas are read that are nothing but a type of poems written by him which have deep meanings and great relevance to the society. His life was very simple and he was known to be the eminent writer by his work known as Kabir Vani. Every year his Jayanti is celebrated to honor him. He was very thoughtful since birth. He was the follower of his Guru Ramanand who was also a famous saint in the 15th century. Ramanan only named him as Kabir Das and inspired him to write the poems. He helped him in his finding of the ultimate truth of life.
The most surprising part of his life was saint Kabir das never accepted whether he was a Hindu or a Muslim. His Jayanti is celebrated in the month of May or June. One of his major works are Kabir Granthawali, Anurag Sagar and Bijak.

The Jayanti of Kabir Das is celebrated on small scale. At many places various kind of cultural programs are held. At school and college level debate competitions, essay writing competitions are held in school. Students sing his dohas and listen them. His dohas are very relevant and gives teachings of life and Indian society. Generally people recite his dohas and phrase in use of daily languages to give more impact also.
