When is Kalki Jayanti

Kalki Jayanti –Celebration on the expected arrival of Kalki

As per the Hindu Mythlogy books the lord Vishnu has various Avatars which are known as ten incarnations of the Lord. He took avatar in various ages to save the world from the demons. Out of the ten avatars, nine avatars are already taken and only one is left which is known as Kalki avatar. Hence, Kalki is the tenth incarnation of Lord Vishnu. It is believed that Kalki will arrive at the end of Kali Yuga also known as Dark Age which is the present era. He will come here to eradicate evil and to establish righteousness. To do this, it is believed that he will destroy the present world. This will mark the end of Kali Yuga and the beginning of Satya Yuga which is the age of righteousness and purity. It is also believed the Kali will come on a white horse named Devadutta and he will also have a sword in his hand to kill all the corrupt and arrogant kings on earth. It is stated in Bhagavad Purana that Kalki will appear in a village named Sambhala. This year Kalki Jayanti was observed on August 20th.
