Maharana Pratap Jayanti, a true patriot
The land of Rajasthan is much known for brave warriors and kings who love their mother land more than their lives. Maharana Pratap was one of such legendary king from Mewar who constantly fought against mughal kings for the freedom of his motherland. Maharana is known for his true patriotism and his first war of Independence. He was known to be the first bravest Rajput who took courage to fight with Mughal emperor Akbar who had the largest kingdom in those days. We still remember him for his bravery. Every year his Jayanti is celebrated like a festival on 7th June. There is also special Puja organized at Eklingnath Temple on this day to commemorate the birthday of Maharana Pratap as Eklingnath was his clan god.
Maharana Pratap was a great fighter and won many battles between Rajput and Mughals. He was also a great leader and a powerful administrator as well as a great king. Even today he is best known for his heroism, pride and patriotism for his country.
At some places people worship him like God. Every year on the occasion of Maharana Pratap’s Jayanti special pooja is held. At people also conduct various kinds of cultural programs. Debate competitions and skit competitions are also held. There are a number of programs organized in Mewar, Haldighati and Jaipur which are situated in the state of Rajasthan.
Celebrations at Rajasthan
Maharana Pratap Jayanti is celebrated at very large scale in Rajasthan. At Rajasthan state famous fare of Mewar is celebrated. Various kind of cultural events are organized by various organizations. The Royal families of Rajasthan worship him like God and pay tribute to him in different forms. At many places people also do charitable activities like distribution of fruits, food, clothes and money among poor. At school and college programs dedicated to him are presented by students on his remembrance.
