As per Hinduism, there are various goddesses and each of them are having some heavenly powers which they can bless them to their worshippers. In the famous festival of Navratri, means Nine Nights, people worship different form of goddesses which are though considered as Durga Shakti only. There are a lot of places where people perform special puja in temples. In some states such as Gujarat people play Garba which is a dance form of worship only. In these days at many spots people also worship Goddess Saraswati who is a goddess of wisdom and knowledge to bless them with knowledge of good and bad as well as help them succeed in life.

For Saraswati Puja usually evening time is preferred in these days while for Durga and her other forms Puja, the time of puja is at night. On the eighth day, at many temples people participate in yagya also. At many places people visit a particular temple every day in these days. During the Durga Ashtami havan also Saraswati is placed as a source of wisdom and energy. There are a lot of rituals carried out in various regions. In a few states on these days young girls are also decorated as various goddesses and people worship them as a form of goddess only.

Many people at temple as well as home worship deity with various shlokas and chants different stotras where the virtues and various acts done by goddesses are mentioned. Hence, the follower try to admire the deity and seek her blessings for health, wealth and prosperity. With the passage of time the festival is also being more popular in the next generation of Hindu community also. It is really an interesting festival.
