World Ozone Day: Let’s know the importance of our atmosphere
As we all know the stratosphere is made with the help of different shields or layers of various gases. Ozone is one of the most important part of the layers of these gases. It prevents us from the side effects of UV layers, i.e. Ultraviolet rays which are spread from the sun. This year the theme of the World Ozone Days is marked as ‘All there is between you and UV’. This layer was first discovered in the year 1913 by Charles Fabry who was a French physicists and Henri Buisson. The layer of Ozone is found in the lower portion of Stratosphere. You will be surprised to know that this layer absorbs around 99 percent of Sun’s ultraviolet rays which otherwise can be much harmful to the mankind. The United Nations General Assembly has designated 16th of September as The International Preservation of the Ozone Layer.
