Yogini Ekadashi: Rewards supreme liberation
There are a number of days as per the Hindu calendar which are considered as auspicious by tithi only and there are a number of rituals performed by the people. Yogini Ekadashi is also one of such auspicious day for all Hindus as it is the eleventh day of the month. This fast is considered as very useful for those people who are suffering from skin disease. It is said that skin disease like leprosy can be cured if you observe Yogini Ekadashi. This fast can be observed by children and adults. It is very good to observe fast on Ekadashi but Yogini Ekadashi is the main fast among all this. It helps to remove all sins and can also reward with supreme liberation. There are various pujas and other rituals are followed by people at home as well as various temples.
Rituals to be observed on Yogini Ekadashi
The rituals for Yogini Ekadashi are very simple. The followers of various sects wake up early in the morning and light a lamp which is fuelled by ghee. They perform puja to Lord Vishnu as well as Goddess Lakshmi and seek their blessing in the form of good health and life free of all the miseries. People also visit a Krishna temple nearby. During this fast they avoid sleeping at night and keep jagarata by chanting shlokas of Lord Krishna as well as Lord Vishnu. People also sing hymns in groups, meditate or pray to Lord Vishnu. The next day morning they take a holy bath and light a lamp as well as pray to Lord Vishnu and after that only the fast ends. It is also considered ideal to abstain from food when there is fast and observe celibacy and keep good thoughts in mind during the fast.
